About HugPDF
Why HugPDF processes documents locally and how the service is built.
HugPDF is a free web application at gethugpdf.com for working with PDF files and creating documents. Selected document contents are processed locally in your browser, rather than sent to a document-processing server.
Local first
The tools run inside your browser. A file you choose remains on your device while JavaScript processes it in memory. We do not receive a copy of the document, its filename or its contents.
Honest conversions
PDF is designed to preserve appearance, while Word and Office formats describe editable structure. Conversions between them are not always exact. Each tool explains when text, links, forms or layout may be flattened or need review.
Accessibility and languages
The interface is available in English, Arabic and Brazilian Portuguese, supports right-to-left layout, keyboard navigation, clear status messages and responsive controls for phones and desktops.
Who is behind HugPDF?
HugPDF is an independent project owned by Ahmad Chebli. It grew from the need to prepare work documents and submission attachments without sending them to a processing server. Its aim is practical tools with clear explanations of capabilities and limitations.
How we document results
Instructions refer to the tool's current controls. Published tests identify the sample, settings, results and limitations, distinguishing engine tests from browser UI tests. See the Arabic table example and compression example. Examples use fictional data.
Report an issue
Email support@gethugpdf.com with the tool URL, browser and device, file size and page count, steps and error message. Do not send confidential documents or passwords. Use a redacted screenshot or fictional sample when needed.
Privacy and funding
Local document processing is separate from website loading, analytics and potential advertising connections. Read the Privacy Policy before use. Local processing alone is not legal or medical compliance certification. We do not promise every tool will work offline before its dependencies have loaded.
